In a joint venture with Mathes Brierre Architects, Adam Beazley, while serving as a Partner at Architects Beazley Moliere, played a significant role in co-designing the impressive new Digital Library for Grambling State University.
This state-of-the-art library spans an impressive 50,000 square feet and is envisioned to cater to a student body of over 5,200 students. With a focus on fostering a conducive learning environment, the building boasts over 17,000 square feet of dedicated study spaces and provides more than 500 student computer stations, empowering students with cutting-edge resources.
Beyond its modern amenities, the library offers over 5,000 square feet of multi-use spaces, accommodating diverse activities and facilitating collaboration among students and faculty. Additionally, the library’s vast collection of resources comprises over 200,000 physical items, ranging from books and videos to microfilm and historic artwork.
This groundbreaking project stands out as the first digital library to be housed at a Historically Black College and University in the United States, making it a pioneering achievement for both the university and the architectural team involved.
Working closely with the professors and administrative personnel at Grambling State University has been a rewarding experience, and Architects Beazley Moliere, along with Mathes Brierre Architects, looks forward to continuing the collaborative relationship and bringing this cutting-edge library project to fruition. The new Digital Library will undoubtedly serve as a beacon of knowledge and innovation, elevating the educational experience for generations to come.
