Adam Beazley was the Architect of Record for this significant project while practicing as a principal at Architects Beazley Moliere. My team and I took great care to bring the vision of this campus to life in the Opelousas area. We worked closely with the client to understand their needs and aspirations for the facility. The main goal was to create a space that catered to the community’s requirements while promoting a sense of belonging and spiritual growth.
Nestled in the Opelousas area, this new 43,304 square foot Our Savior’s Church campus is a testament to functional and practical design. Its main focus is to serve the community with care and inclusivity. Upon entry, visitors are greeted by a welcoming lobby, designed to be a central gathering place. Here, they can enjoy a full-service coffee bar, a cozy lounge area, and ample space for fellowship and connections among members.
The facility features a fully equipped Nursery and children’s church area, thoughtfully catering to infants through 12-year-olds. Through the clever placement of a central check-in area, safety and security is achieved while comfort is prioritized to ensure a nurturing environment for young minds to grow in the knowledge of the Lord.
The Sanctuary is the heart of the campus, with a seating capacity of 1,250. To create a more intimate ambiance, approximately 750 seats are arranged in a tiered configuration. The flexibility of the floor seating allows the Sanctuary to transform into a spacious event venue, making it suitable for weddings and other special gatherings.
The overall design aims to blend functionality with simplicity, providing a space that supports spiritual growth, fosters a sense of community, and facilitates various events and activities with ease. This new campus aspires to become an integral part of the Opelousas community, offering a place of solace and celebration for all who enter its doors.
