While at Architects Beazley Moliere, Adam Beazley took on the role of both designer and project manager for the impressive Professional Arts Pharmacy project, a provider of compounded pharmaceutical preparations serving both local and national clientele. With a growing business and a need for updated laboratory spaces, the owners sought to construct a modern facility that could cater to their current staff and production needs while allowing for future expansion.
The carefully designed site offers ample retail customer parking, a spacious employee parking area, and provisions for large truck traffic, ensuring smooth pick-up and delivery operations. Moreover, the layout was strategically crafted to accommodate future expansion possibilities for the office areas to the west and the laboratory and parking to the east.
The 11,525 square foot facility is divided into four secure areas: a business area, a dispensing pharmacy, compounding laboratory areas with clean room spaces for sterile preparations, and a shipping and receiving area. With a thoughtful use of brick, stucco, and glass, the building is aesthetically divided into three sections, elegantly highlighting the business and laboratory areas, with the taller public entry creating a striking focal point. Inside, high glass windows flood private consultation areas and laboratory spaces with natural light, ensuring a conducive environment where privacy is essential.
The lobby has been designed to exude an open, modern, and welcoming retail atmosphere. Using a captivating blend of mahogany and cherry woods, complemented by metal and glass details, the space creates a dynamic retail experience that sets it apart from typical big-box retail pharmacies. The Professional Arts Pharmacy now stands as a testament to thoughtful design, blending functionality, aesthetics, and a welcoming atmosphere for both staff and customers.
